Piyarathanarama sacred temple situated in Attidiya near Colombo provides an immense religious service and support to its nearby community members to uplift their welfare and wellbeing. To help the temple manage its electricity bills, FIMER supplied its UNO-DM-5kW inverter through S.L.A.M Power Solutions (Pvt) Ltd who donated a 5kW solar PV system as a part of its annual CSR program.
Piyarathanarama temple is a Buddhist temple in Colombo, capital of Sri Lanka. In the temple, there are approximately eight monks residing at present along with another group of “Dayaka” members. The temple was facing inflated electricity power bills and due to insufficient funds, had approached Mr. Manoj Tharaka, Director of S.L.A.M Power Solutions, for a feasible solution to curb rising electricity costs. S.L.A.M Power assessed the requirements of the holy place and decided to donate the entire system of 5kW to the temple authorities. Slam Power also donated food and other essential commodities to the temple authorities.
FIMER’s UNO-DM-5kW inverter was chosen for this project because it was the optimal solution brought together by years of experience and trust through S.L.A.M Power Solutions (Pvt) Ltd. The holistic approach provided by S.L.A.M Power solutions right from educating the customer to choosing the best EPC and providing the best quality products; from explaining all procedures and supporting documents during installation to being available for any after sales support 24 X 7 was one of the key reasons for the customer choosing FIMER. Solar power directly contributes to Sri Lanka’s energy security and independence, as well as helping to meet rising electricity demand and CO2 emission reduction goals. Rooftops across Sri Lanka are harnessing solar power that is contributing to the country’s clean energy mix and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
However, while the tropical weather of Sri Lanka is most favourable for solar energy, with the technology still having a relatively niche market, it is difficult to find a suitable service provider to provide quality products as well as after sales support, as, Ven.Sumedha Thero, the Chief-monk of the Piyarathanarama Temple said: “It was proving extremely challenging to find a solar provider to pay attention to the difficulties we were facing and advise on the best way forwards. We are hugely appreciative of the way SLAM Power Solutions listened to our concerns and took immediate measures to install a solar power system in our premises.”
Mr.Chirag Wijenayake , Director of Green Light Solar Lanka, who was the EPC contractor for this project, emphasised the quality of products along with local warranty handling and after sales service. He further added: “SLAM Power Solutions promises the best service for your investment in the long run. We also chose to work with FIMER because of its proven quality and service provided.”
KN Sreevatsa,Country Managing Director (India) says “At FIMER, we believe not only in providing tailormade solutions for the customer’s maximum benefit but we also like to “Make a difference” to their lives. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed our perception of the world in unexpected ways. It forcibly nudged everyone into reinventing the way they live and work. At FIMER, we are rethinking ways to alleviate some of this damage through social responsibility initiatives. It is time for us to actively look at how we can give back to society without violating social distancing norms.”
